5th Article: Heat and light controlling smart window tech gets less-expensive, more flexible

Imagine having a control in your hand in which with a button you can determine the amount of light that enters your home through the windows, or even the amount of heat. Thanks to Delia Milliron and her team from Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, this can be a real thing in a few years. They are developing a glass like material made with electrochromic smart materials. The technology is on its very early stage and needs a lot of more time and research to make it completely useful. This technology caught the attention of other research universities and now decided to work together for the same goal, which is a great thing.

Ford made a mistake and now they’re paying for it. During their quality screening, they did an error by installing some faulty fuel pumps. Problems reported are that cars are not starting up or suddenly stalling. They managed to find the cause and are taking action by recalling them to correct the fault. This means they need to unexpectedly spend money, but this is the price they have to pay for committing an error. Like mentioned on the comments of the discussion, this may be a wake-up call for Ford’s quality management. This time it was a technically small error, but next time the story could be a different one.
