Wall Bumper
Detection: The purpose of the yellow painted metal is to work as a bumper. It is supposed to prevent the wall from getting damaged in case of an accident. As we can see, it didn't work.
Prevention: Making a "bumper" with better collision absorbing material designed for industrial garages.

Paint on Window
Detection: This is a window from the living room of my apartment. Clearly, the person who painted it didn't use any barrier to protect the window from the paint.
Prevention: The usage of tape is a common method used to make perfect lines while painting while at the same time prevent the paint to go to unwanted places.

Microwave Space?
I found this quite funny. The kitchen cabinet has a space designed for a small microwave. I bought the smallest one I could find and still didn't fit, that is why I had to create the adapter shown on the picture. But the main reason for adding this to my list is not the space, it is because of the cable. The cabinet did not have the hole shown were the cables goes out to the power supply.

Drawer
Detection: This is the kitchen drawer from a friend's apartment. When trying to open more than one at the same time, they interfere one with the other. Then we noticed that each drawer has a different length. When they are fully opened (like in the picture) we can notice the difference between their sizes.
Prevention: Improving the quality of this drawers by making standard sizes. Also, have the cabinet's walls with pre-drilled holes from factory to have seamless alignments between drawers.

AC PLACEMENT
I saw this split unit while visiting a doctors office. As you can see on the image, the place designed for the AC is not well planned. The unit is held by the concrete column while the conduct comes from the drywall, leaving this method of installation as the only option. The problem here was the construction design, the unit is supposed to go there, but there are other design positions and methods available that would have ended up in a better finish.

Rusted Cealing
Detection: This right here caught my attention while walking home. This is one of the Path Train Stations. I noticed because they are changing the metal grills and replacing them with new ones.
Prevention: If they had protected those ones since the original installation with an anti rust paint coat, the investment in buying and installing new ones would not be necessary.

Card Holder
This is my old wallet / card holder. For obvious reason I had to change it. For the price, there wasn't that much to expect, but i did not expect it to be that low quality, it did not last even 3 months. The problem is not the leather used, its the stitching job. It was held together by a thin sewing thread. If this card holder had better quality stitching, it would have lasted a lot more time.

Wood Floor
Detection: Sadly, this is the hallway on the front entrance to my apartment, where the first thing you see when you come in is the poorly cut wood-floor finish. Apparently, the constructors or floor installers made a miscalculation and the floor doesn't have the correct measurements.
Prevention: Usage of advance tools in order to have better and more precise measurements so that this miss-finishes doesn't happen.

Security on Street Constructions
This is a sidewalk located near Herald Square in Manhattan. The problem here is not just the cone, if you see closely, there are two cables coming out of the ground. We don't know if that cable is electrically active, for that reason it should be covered or perhaps use the same cone to cover it.

Unstandarized Tools
Detection: Here, I noticed the usage of different screws on the base of this fence. This may damage the original purposed quality on the design. Additionally, we can note that the screw on the back at the right is rusted. This puts in jeopardy the strength of the whole fence, which can be damaged.

Cable
Detection: I find it very ugly to see cables all around the house. Sometimes it can be hidden by a sofa or some other furniture, but in this case, this TV signal cable has nothing to be covered with.
Prevention: Have the cable inside the wall and connect to TV by an wall outlet. In the worst case scenario, the installation of cable covers would make it a lot less visible and attention calling.

Misplacement
The misplacement of this power outlet is obvious. The only window where an AC can be placed is the one on the picture and the only near power outlet is the one also shown. During summer there is no problem, the cable can be placed behind the radiator without any consequences but during the cold weather its another story. The white tubes gets really hot (even when the heater is off) what causes the cable from the AC to melt. For this reason, the cable has to be like in the picture.
